Overview

Spathe Systems is seeking a Software Factory Lead in support of an Enterprise IT Service Management opportunity in the National Capitol Region supporting the United States Government.

 

Spathe Systems is a full scope systems integrator specializing in Enterprise IT Service Management, Software and Application Development, and Cyber Security Services. We are a rapidly growing Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) defense contractor headquartered in Tampa, FL with offices in Fayetteville, NC, and strategic partner locations in the National Capitol Region. Responsibilities

SPATHE is looking for a qualified individual to support an Enterprise IT Service Management opportunity in the National Capitol Region supporting the United States Government. The Software Factory Lead will be joining the team that is responsible for bridging the gap between software and hardware for a government customer. They must possess the aptitude, knowledge, interpersonal skills, and ability necessary to perform the following tasks:

  • Responsible for construction, testing, and maintenance of the DevOps practices to ensure flawless execution and enabling our software engineering organization to move fast to deliver for our customers.
  • Provides department leadership for the software factory and partners with our Application Development and Infrastructure teams
  • Provide senior-level, best practice recommendations and implementations to our Windows, Linux and Kubernetes hosting environments.
  • Function as a mentor to junior team members, providing technical guidance and recommending continued learning opportunities to upskill their skillsets.
  • Work together with our Security team to remediate high-risk vulnerabilities and ensure the security of our environments are being scrutinized as appropriate for their use case.
  • Educate fellow team members as well as Application Development Architects/Team Leads about the platforms used-for and hosted-by our team. Key tools and concepts in this space are: Visual Studio, Docker, WSL, Azure DevOps, Git, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Orchestration, Service Mesh, Ingress & Egress, Service Bus, Message Queues.
  • DevOps and SRE mindsets, focusing on scalable, reliable and resilient applications.
  • Deploying, managing and educating on CI/CD tools and best practices.
  • Identifying areas of opportunity for continued automation and providing roadmaps for continuous improvement, with focus towards fully-automating (script or otherwise) our environments.
  • Curate and/or review documentation for new and existing processes for communication and consistency purposes (instructions, flow diagrams).

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics
  • 7+ years’ experience comprised from the following areas: Cloud (Azure, AWS), Release Pipeline Management, Windows Server Administration, Linux Administration, Certificate Management, PowerShell scripting, Configuration Management (Ansible/Terraform)
  • ITIL v4 Certification (Preferred)
  • DoDI 8570.01m Certification required
  • Enterprise-level Kubernetes experience
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, including focus in these key areas: observability, modern application architecture styles, blue-green / canary deployments, CI/CD pipeline management
  • Demonstrate strong organization skills and must be detail-oriented
  • Function as a team member with emphasis on teamwork and sharing of knowledge
  • Ability to own multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Capability to self-motivate, study, and stay on-top of emerging technologies and trends, while meeting business deadlines
  • Smaller tools that experience would help with: Harbor, Longhorn, Kyverno, Calico

Work Location:

  • Primarily in facilities in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) region

 

Travel:

  • Travel may be required to various CONUS and OCONUS locations at the direction of the customer

Schedule:

  • Contractor personnel working on-site are required to work up to 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, during the contract period. A typical duty day while present onsite is from 0800 to 1730 Eastern Time (ET), Monday through Friday. The scope of this contract provides 24/7/365 IT Service Management and support. As such, some positions may be required to perform shift work and may be required to provide surge capability in support of the customer’s mission.
