Spathe is currently searching for a Technical Writer to join our team.

Spathe Systems is a rapidly growing SOF led, 8(a) defense contractor headquartered in Tampa, FL with offices in Fayetteville, NC and strategic partner locations in Virginia Beach and Coronado. As a small business with a tight knit family feel, Spathe empowers its employees to solve problems and make decisions.

Technical Writers must possess the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. They need excellent interpersonal skills in order to elicit detailed information from subject-matter experts (for example, applications developers), in addition to advanced writing and editing skills. Technical Writers also need to be adept in document creation using applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Typical duties include:

• Documenting the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications


• Writing and editing user manuals, help systems and other technical documents


• Designing and formatting documents using document-creation software


• Interviewing developers and other technical resource personnel to ensure the accuracy of all information presented

Clearance Required:

• TS/SCI

Educational Requirements: 

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in English, journalism or information sciences is required

Experience Requirements: 

• At least three years of experience as a Technical Writer on another contract of similar scope and size
