Spathe is currently searching for a Transportation Specialist to join our team in the Virginia Beach, VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Transportation Specialist shall be a subject matter expert on transportation and cargo handling operations as it relates to Defense Transportation Regulations (DTR) in support of the NSWG-8's mission worldwide via all modes of transportation.
  • Due to nature of work the contractor will require up to 400-surge hours per year.
    • Surge hours include:
    • Support two (2) major force rotations at multiple locations in CONUS. Each force rotation may last up to four (4) weeks each and may include an additional 20 man-hours per week during execution, or up to 320-surge hours per year.
    • Support multiple situational force rotations. During situational force rotations contractor will be on-call to work an iterative block schedule of no less than 4-hours per block, and up to 12 hours per day to include weekends and in all weather conditions, or up to an additional 80-surge hours per year.
  • The Transportation Specialist will be required to obtain government licenses to drive government vehicles to include sedans, pickups, tractor trailers, and forklifts in support of transportation requirements.
  • Transportation Specialist shall work with other Naval Special Warfare Group's Transportation personnel on an occasional basis for joint projects as part of NSW enterprise events.
  • Transportation Specialist shall be able to assess, plan, and execute hands on projects to include building and netting 463L pallets, weighing and marking all types of cargo to include rolling stock and intermodal containers.
  • Transportation Specialist shall be able to pack and certify hazardous materiel's (HAZMAT) via all modes of transportation.
  • Transportation Specialist shall be familiar with aircraft load-plan aircraft and represent the deploying unit at Joint Inspections.

Qualifications

  • At least five (5) years' experience in transportation with a primary focus on airlift and have a background as a Navy embark specialist or Air Force Air Transportation Specialist (2T2).
  • Contractor shall possess and maintain certification for preparation and shipment of HAZMAT in accordance with Defense Transportation Regulation Part II Cargo Movement Chapter 204 and 49 CFR 172.104.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license to include Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and forklift license up to 20,000lbs.
